2010 Winter Olympics: Lindsey Vonn Injury Watch, Day 2: I’ll Grit My Teeth
Lindsey Vonn has just announced via her Facebook fan page that she thinks she will be able to compete in the Olympics, even if she has to grit her teeth through the pain.
Vonn, who decided to test her injured right shin for the first time today, before the practice was eventually called off because of excessive snow on the mountain top, said while the pain is still there, it is no longer the sharp, debilitating pain she felt earlier in the week. "I was really happy to be back on snow today even if it was for only one freeski run. My shin was still very painful, but I feel like the injury is finally progressing a bit," Vonn said, "The pain level has gone down from a sharp debilitating pain to something that I feel I may be able to grit my teeth through. So that really puts a smile on my face.
