Beach volleyball catching up in Nepal
Beach volleyball might be new to Nepal. But it surely could open up new possibilities in the sports sector. There are hundreds of riverside beaches in Nepal and beach volleyball could be developed into a popular sports. This will not only promote internal tourism but also attract foreigners.Shyam Sundar Lal Kakshapati, the proprietor of the Riverside Spring Resort, is the brain behind the idea of promoting beach volleyball in Nepal. He plans to strike gold by selling the product called beach volleyball.
The Riverside Spring Resort organized a three-day corporate beach volleyball contest last Friday. The contest held at the resort located in Kurintar, which lies along the bank of Trishuli River about 100 km from Kathmandu, is not the first-of-its-kind event. The resort has been organizing similar contests for the past four years. In fact, beach volleyball is fast catching up with the country folks and foreigners alike.
