The 2010 Beach Volleyball season got underway in earnest following the generous support from Maerua Superspar that will enable the DTS Volleyball Club to host a series of seven tournaments for the current campaign. Swakopmund is to host one of the seven tournaments where players are allowed to enter in the 2-a-side for men, ladies and youth categories in addition to the mixed 4-a-side category.
The mixed 4-a-side category has become very popular amongst participants as it enables amateur players to compete in this social category. This year, the annual popular series will witness another addition to its range of categories with the introduction of the mini volleyball category where children under the age of 15 will be able to participate. The idea is aimed at promoting beach volleyball and to ensure the growth and continuity of this particular discipline.
